Some seeds and nuts release their aroma more fully when lightly toasted. Toasted oil therefore tastes stronger. To make toasted oils we use the same seeds and nuts as for our non-toasted oils but we only toast them just before pressing, ensuring that the full aroma is retained.

Our ’maître huilier’ carefully toasts the selected seeds in the roasting pan. As soon as they have been roasted for long enough the seeds are immediately and carefully pressed, once. This ensures that the individual aromas are accentuated, while retaining the valuable nutritional elements of the oils.

Gourmet Tip

Our toasted nut oils are ideally suited for baking, as well as for preparing custards and desserts. Often just one or two splashes of oil are enough to give a subtle aroma and enjoyable flavour.

Toasted walnut oil is the classic in fine French cuisine. Excellent with salads, soups and sauces, as well as cakes, pastries and desserts.
